Polls & Surveys create engagement and interaction on Social Media
Polls or Surveys are a useful way to create engagement with your followers on social media by asking a question and providing several choices for them to show their feedback. This encourages an actual interaction on your social media channel. Polls are great to obtain ideas on what consumers may want from you and feedback on the services and products that you offer.
How to run a poll on Facebook
Facebook has a few apps that provide poll features.
The following is ‘My-Polls’ which is free to use but has a limit of up to 40 responses before it requires you to then used the paid version.
Copy the generated poll link and either post it to your Facebook wall, or create a page on your Facebook business page which you can add temporarily to your Facebook menu navigation for the duration of the survey period.
How to run a poll on Instagram
Instagram has recently introduced interactive poll stickers within Instagram stories.
After you’ve taken a photo or video for your Instagram story, select the “poll” sticker and place it anywhere on the screen. Then, you can write a question and customise two answer options for Instagram followers to choose from.
Once the poll has been shared, Instagram followers can immediately start voting and see the results.
Once someone has voted, they’ll see which choice is in the lead at any given moment. The Instagram story and poll both disappear after 24 hours as usual.
To see your own Instagram poll results, swipe up to open the viewers list for that part of your Instagram story. The menu that appears displays how many votes each option received, and you’ll also see who voted and which option they chose.
How to run a poll on Google+
Google+ also offers polls with posts. Compose a new post and click the ‘Add poll’ icon within the post type options. This will then provide the options and types of questions you have available to configure.
How to run a poll on Twitter
Twitter also offers a ‘Poll’ feature. Compose a new tweet and click the ‘Add poll’ icon within the tweet. This will then provide the options and types of questions you have available to configure.
Once created, post your poll on Twitter.
